MBS™ can perform all stages of processing required for analyzing large sets of MALDI MS data. For pre-processing MBS™ is able to perform normalization, baseline subtraction, Savitzky-Golay filtering, peak detection, peak merging and binning. Thereafter, MBS™ is able to perform different data mining analyses, e.g. build diagnostic models and detect features which best discriminate between two different groups of samples (control samples and disease samples).

In collaboration with different research groups, e.g. Professor Kaj Blennow (from Sahlgrenska University Hospital), we have developed a comprehensive set of tools for pre-processing MALDI MS data. These tools are available in the software MBS™ together with other tools for multivariate statistics and data mining. These tools were implemented into MBS™ under the module name IPM™.

MBS™ (containing LEQuant) can perform all stages of processing required for analyzing large sets of LC-MS (HPLC-ESI MS, MS/MS) samples. For pre-processing MBS™ is able to perform signal processing, noise and baseline filtering, feature detection, map aligning and feature grouping. Thereafter, MBS™ is able to perform different analyses, e.g. build diagnostic models, detect features for biomarker candidates, and perform protein identification.

In collaboration with Professor Knut Reinert (from Free University Berlin) and Professor Oliver Kohlbacher (from Eberhard Karls University Tübingen) we have combined our Medicwave Bioinformatics Suite™ (MBS™) for multivariate statistics with OpenMS - a C++ library for LC-MS data management and analysis. OpenMS was implemented into MBS™ under the module name LEQuant™.
In collaboration with Professor Roman Zubarev (from Karolinska Institutet Stockholm) we have implemented 4 unique software tools named GS4FTMS, DeNoS, PhosTShunter and ModifiComb. GS4FTMS performs golden and complementary pair extraction from collisionally activated dissociation CAD and electron capture dissociation ECD data. DeNoS performs de novo sequencing of peptides fragmented using CAD and ECD. PhosTShunter detects all phosphorylated peptides in MS/MS data. ModifiComb detects all types of peptide modification, for known and unknown peptides. These 4 tools were implemented into MBS™ under the module name PAS™.

The Professional edition is the complete and unlimited version of MBS™. This is a perpetual license, not an annual fee, and includes 1 year warranty covering technical support and all updates. After the first year, if you wish to continue receiving technical support and updates, you have the option of purchasing a support contract.
The MBS™ Lite and Standard license can be purchases several times. For LC MS (LC-ESI MS or other MS/MS), when 2000 LC MS sample imports have been made the license will automatically be upgraded to the Professional license (without any additional payments required).
